This is what i have. 2" stainless square tubing. will add pics when i bolt it to the top of the mast saturday. this ought to keep the spin halyard off my roller furling genoa. had 3 wraps from it last year.

I dont think i have a catalina mast. mine has a flat top head that is welded on. dont remember what my last boat had.



my masthead looks like this from a cat 36. PO must have replaced it.

Wow, that is something new. Could be a modified mast head. Believe the shrouds would go all the way up also.
