Wow! Talk about a sight... There were quite a few racing Catalina 22s out on Lanier this weekend.. We sailed through the course on Saturday and then stayed outta their way, but it sure was a lovely day! A beautiful Windy Day... I kept thinking I was probably seeing David P from Nashville out there. I must say I've really come to enjoy watching the regattas. You could hear the mylar crackling...
What did your boat look like David? Did yall do well?
My boat is blue and white with no sail numbers and the nun on the sail is side by side rather than over each other. I din't shoot this weekend, just a few spots of video.
I was crewing on #166, PLAN-B, white hull, and we sailed in silver Fleet. 25 boats in gold and 9 in silver. We came in 2nd place in silver fleet. Two other boats from our fleet in Nashville took 3rd and 4th in silver. All in all, a good showing. The weather couldn't have been better, either.
Ray, I actually like local boats sailing through a regatta course. I think it is in line with the Corinthian spirit, it is the race that matters, not who wins. The random obstacle is not a bad thing.

Oh they had more than enough traffic on Saturday... this year was a hoot. The course basically crossed the main line of traffic on the lake. It was the largest group of racers and observers I've seen in some time.
