I have pulled the wood off the boat and am refinishing all the pieces. I would like to replace some of the stainless hardware bolts and screws as I reinstall them. Where is a good source for me to order them?

Do you have a local True Value hardware store? The one close to me has a very comprehensive variety of stainless fasteners, comparable to the nearby WM store, where I can pick out as many individual items as I want. (Maybe that's because I'm in a marine-oriented area, but T-V's customers are more contractors and homeowners than boaters.) Just a thought...

thanks Dave,
I will check out T-V. I was hesitating hitting the hardware store as I am worried about the quality of what I would get. specifically, in addition to getting some stainless screws, I need to replace some of the bolts that hold down the hand rails....

I haven't yet detected any problems with SS bolts and screws from this T-V. They seem identical to the ones at WM--even the rack and drawers. (I generally get them from T-V because it's only a couple of hundred yards from my home and dock.)

I've gotten SS screws,Nuts,Bolts from Ace/True Value without any complaints. My local one has little slide out bins and you just pick what you need, Place in a little bag and go. Like WM.

The only reservation I have about getting ss screws from any hardware store is you may not find Phillips head - which I like to use to keep the boat looking original (and they don't strip as easy). But, I am a purist.

If you can't find a unique size, the Bolt Depot is my goto source. Very informative and easy to use website. Very helpful staff and they have even shipped p.m. orders the same day. They also have reasonable shipping charges!

I've had to many rust stains from Lowes, possible due to a saltwater environment

I've been getting hardware at True Value too. Great selection. Very helpful experienced staff willing to help you find mundane small parts.
