Hi all - new to the forum, sailed Lasers, Cherubs and Fireballs, but now I live in the US near Lake Travis, Austin TX and just bought a 1981 Catalina 25 as a project.
Sorting out various stuff - electrics are a mess, cushions need replacing but the hull is sound (so far), and a decent outboard. The boat floats though haven’t had the sails up yet.
There is a Raymarine ST40 depth gauge, but looks like the transducer cable was cut some time back. I can see the cable, wondering if I can just splice a new cable on? Though looks like the gauge needs 3 cables, and the cut cable looks like a coax cable - single core and a screen, unless there are 2 cores and its just very small and I just can’t see it...
I believe you can buy from Raymarine a replacement cable, and it may be the same as they currently use on the ST50 (replaced the 40). If nothing else the tech support from raymarine is good.

Having the cable cut and never replaced makes me wonder if the transducer isn't any good. Could be that the PO didn't bother replacing the cable because he knew the unit didn't work.
