I'm thinking of adding a new chartplotter to my Catalina 250. The popular place seems to be inside the port side of the companionway. My question is how to run power to that location? There is already a depth/fish finder there, but the power cable for that disappears immediately into the ceiling between the sliding hatch and the head. I have no idea where it goes from there.

The depth-sounder, if I'm not mistaken, is connected to the light fixture in the head. Both are on the cabin main breaker.

A nice feature of the Garmin depth-sounder/fish-finder is that shows the voltage of the battery as well.

We re-charged the battery by connecting the battery charger to the cigarette lighter. This eliminated having to struggle all the way through the aft berth to the battery
