Can I remove and replace these one-by-one while the keel is hanging from the pivot pin?
My instinct says no, but from reading about regarding the removal of keels (with the rod method) it seems that this is the way people insert the rods: remove a bold, thread in the rod, repeat.
Was going to make a bigger project this year and build a cradle for the keel to sit in so I could do more work on it, but time constraints make that too much for this year.
You're welcome. Please see edit to my previous post. I realize it seems obvious and you probably already have the end of the keel resting on something, but it's worth mentioning.
The more vertical the keel is, the more resting it on its tip will unweight the hangers. If the keel is at much of an angle from vertical, it would probably be wise to block the forward end. Otherwise you might have 600-700 lbs (nearly half the total) pulling down on the hangars.

Keel is about half lowered. I'd guess at a 45' angle. Maybe I can rig something for safety without much effort to hold some weight, but the angle makes it tough.
