Just a pair of photos showing an un-tested roll stopper device for the 250.
One of the cruising curses of Catalina Island is it is subject to swell and boat wakes making it into the mooring areas... hence, any comfort while on the mooring calls for some means of diminishing roll.
On other boats I have used Davis roll stoppers which are those orange plastic cones - which work fine - but dont store very well - critical on smaller vessels such as the 250.
I chose to go with plastic panels. We shall see how they work out on my first trip to the island next month. Two of these arrangements are fabricated - one to hang off each side of the vessel. The two sets can be connected to hang off a single whisker pole which is expected to be very effective.
And - at first glance they stow well.
I went to The Plastics Depot in Burbank and asked for something cheap and 3/8ths thick. Cutting board type material was recommended... $40 for four pieces. A bit of retired 5/16ths line, a stainless ring, and a few knots.
