I have posted pictures several times in a few posts in the past but it befuddles me to no end why the same procedure does not seem to work this time; any thoughts where I went wrong with this link:
(I replaced the beginning and end [] below with "...)

Ahh, I was just thinking it could be because the link doesn't end in a photo file format. When i just did it to compare, the link was http://........jpg. I use photobucket. Either google drive is weird, or maybe you're pulling the wrong format link from the site.

Thanks; I moved the pics to Photobucket and voila...

not sure if there is a setting in 'drive' that would make it work; regardless, problem solved. Thanks.

Dave is probably right. Try putting the photo elsewhere in the internet. I uploaded your photo to Flickr then took the address from there and it worked fine.
