I've thought about painting mine offwhite to match the hull. The original did not have a full gelcoat job on it and it's not so pleasing to look at - there's a little of the fiberglass or resin color coming through. Does your buddy make the trim piece in aluminum or stainless steel - it's hard to tell due to the photo's color rendition. Shiny like chrome or matte?

Probably because I removed the vinyl trim piece, filled the screw holes, wiped some gelcoat patch over a few places, and called it a day. It looked a lot better than it did with the deteriorating trim (under the 10' rule), and I figured a new one from CD would go the same way. That SS version is over the top!
