I stepped on the handle of a 1998 250 wing keel rope clutch and it snapped off. There are no markings on the clutch to identify the manufacturer or model number. Anyone have any ideas on who makes this so I can see if I can get a replacement handle rather than replace the entire clutch? I have pics but can't figure out how to attach them.

The most common clutches are made by Spinlock, but their name is imprinted on the side. Rebuild kits are available for them, and I think the kit includes a new handle. Price is around $38. I don't know if you can buy just the handle alone. I doubt it. (I just found a Spinlock handle on Ebay for $18., if it's the one you need) If yours is a different brand or model, check ebay for parts or a replacement.

Thank you. I don't think it's a Spinlock since there is no name on the side. I was hoping someone might know what was original equipment in 1999. Might have to wait until the end of season to take it apart and look inside for any identifying info.

You should ask on the 250 forum. Maybe one of them will know.

Oh, thanks. First time I've been on the forum, must have clicked on the wrong link.
