Looking in the Mast Stepper from Catalina Direct. Need some reviews on pros and cons. Is it a good move for the money? Have bought a new pickup that will help with trailering. Also tired of paying slip fees. Thanks for any advice.

The Mast Stepper is a great piece of equipment (essential in my book) to help with raising or lowering the mast. Some folks have gotten innovative and made their own.

Yes....It's listed as Mastup Mast Stepper Part# D2249. The description says it raises up to 9 1/2 feet.

Hello Again,

Ok, I have one and have used it twice now. I suppose it helps some in the first part of the process but I have found that having an A Frame is better from there on up unless you happen to always have a couple of strong helpers always available when you need them. Best of luck.

I have the CD mastup and the conduit pipe A-Frame in the tech. manual and my bow winch strap. As stated before many people have made very similar devices that work well. I'm not a friend of gin poles if you don't have guy wires to stabilize port/stbd swaying , or a couple weight lifter type people to help things can go bad fast.

I made my own. Definitely makes it easier coming down or going up.

I got mine locally, not from this site.
