Well the long wait is over. A slip came available and I was able to get it. Not in the marina I was hoping for and a little farther away but at least now I can finally put the boat in the water. Launch day is July 21st. Redondo Beach Marina, CA. A small marina surrounded by boardwalks with fish markets and restaurants. Time to put all of your good advice to work. Thanks everyone.
Wow, A waiting list for a slip. I haven't had that since the recession and everybody sold their boats to try and hang on to their over mortgaged house. I still have plenty of empty slips for the taking of you don't mind a 3000 mile drive.

None around here that I know of. And we have a lot of marinas in the neighborhood!

It's pretty easy to get a slip on the eastern part of Long Island Sound. Although Stamford has issues with the damn developers putting up condos and such.

I believe it's a 3 year waiting list to get into our marina. We simply got lucky and asked the right question at the right time to get in & jump the queue. There's a 30' slip that's right next to a 43' ketch (the biggest boat in our marina), and they wanted a 25' boat in there to give him more turning room. I called & asked about the open slip (which had been noticed by a friend who's a live-aboard in the next marina) and we were in.

I dream of the day we actually get it IN our slip - been plagued with countless other issues. Just this week we performed a test run of the engine in preparation of launching this weekend only to discover an old problem has revieled itself again. Just finished adding a furler and new main sail, too. Looks like we'll leave our paid slip empty this year and put a new 4 Stoke on the list for spring.
