Hi everyone - As I've mentioned elsewhere, we'll soon be taking posession of our new (to us) Catalina 34MkII, requiring a bittersweet sale of Take Five. I have pulled together an initial listing that I will continue to tweak and soon post on multiple sites. This site is getting first notice, so if you know anyone who might be interested, please put them in touch with me:

"Take Five": 1998 Catalina 250 Wing Keel

"Take Five" is a fully equipped pocket cruiser that has been meticulously maintained and continuously upgraded by a knowledgeable and mechanically skilled owner. She is gently sailed in fresh water at least once a week during the season, and stored fully covered on land in winter. She is in sail-away condition, immediately ready for you to take possession. The boat is currently docked on the Delaware River near Philadelphia and can be viewed there by appointment. After purchase, the owner can help you transport the boat by water to a point of your choosing on the Delaware or upper Chesapeake Bay.

This boat is the popular wing keel version, which provides outstanding stability and handling as well as excellent headroom and roominess in the cabin. She has the full package of Catalina supplied accessories (furling headsail, walk-through transom with swim ladder, "catbird" transom seats, self-tailing cabintop winches, all lines led aft, boom vang, galley with large cooler, forward and aft berths). Lookers: You cannot go wrong with this beauty! Rick has been a participant in this organization who has demonstrated a passion for this vessel. I have no special connection to him, but if I were in the market for a boat like this with what I know now as a long-time participant here, I would be all over this!

FYI, Take Five sold this week - two days after putting her on Craigslist. The first people who visited the boat bought her on the spot. The new owners had a Catalina 250 that they sold a few years ago, which they have regretted ever since. So they were thrilled to find another one. They sailed her away yesterday, relocating her to Baltimore's Inner Harbor, a short daysail away from my new C34 in Rock Hall. So I look forward to seeing her out on the water!

Now I just need to cash the $100,000 Nigerian money order, and wire the excess funds back to the overseas buyer.
