Well the last hope I had that hull #2818 will ever see the water again died last week. It was actually a relief, the whimpering was getting on my nerves.
So, let's feast on the corpse shall we?
First up is the 2004 9.9 Honda outboard (BFP9.9D4XLHSA)
I bought it three years ago and it was a great engine, but it won't start now. I used lawnmower gas to demonstrate it to a prospective buyer over a year ago and I'm pretty sure the carb is fouled.
It will turn over all day long and a little ether makes it move. The water pump is fine. I'm installing my new kitchen at the end of a 12 year house renovation and I have zero time to rebuild the carb. My loss is your gain; I had hoped to get a grand for this baby.
I also have the heavy duty mount for another $200
This is the full sailboat model with the extra long leg and the four blade prop.
I'm in Derry, NH

What is the reason hull 2818 will never see the water again? Structural? storm damage? or just change of priorities? I agree that you should raise the price on the engine.

Peter, I couldn't find anyone willing to give me $2,500 and then spend another 500 to get it to the water (there is no trailer) and then spend what, maybe 300 more to get it into the water. It is a fine boat, I advertised for two years. Now it just needs to go.

I would advertise on Craigslist now (Boston/Southcoast/New Hampshire) -- and if you can not sell it this spring, then donate it to a charity and get at least some tax benefit.

I believe his vintage has the cast iron keel--probably not as valuable.

I suggest you contact him using the e-mail function--click on his name to the left of his post. He might not be watching.
Oops--he didn't provide an address in his profile. Oh well...
(Ken: Do you realize we never display the e-mail address--just use it invisibly when somebody clicks the option "Send an e-mail.")
