Greetings all, finally got the boat in the water and have sailed it a few times. However when boarding the boat from my Achilles inflatable the 1st step is dangerous. I've tried a ladder from my previous boat but it does not fit anywhere nicely. Also using the ladder coming up the transom is not realistic because of the rails around the stern.
What do you folks use as a boarding ladder or system? I was contemplating making something that clipped on to the jib traveler but hoping to find an easier solution.
Can you elaborate on this? Is the step not low enough? Boarding any boat even with a full swim platform is never easy from an inflatable, Even worse from a Kayak. I used a fold down step from another ladder that fit the Catalina ladder. Makes getting out of the water easy now but I don't know how this might help your situation.

We're on a mooring so recognize your issue. We've used the Quickstep Boarding Step from CatalinaOwners.com for over 10 years...works great for entering over the side rather than the complications of going over the stern.
We are also on a mooring. We board from our 8 ft rib. I think what really helps is to have it securely attached to the vessel. I have a couple of custom made dock lines to do the job.
The winter cover I had made locally from The Canvas Store here on LI. http://www.thecanvasstore.com/index.html 5yrs now and am very satisfied. It's paid for itself. The ladder extension was taken from another ladder and cut a little on the length to fit when folded up. The difficult part is to find a sacrificial ladder that is 10 3/4" wide, Same as the Cat ladder. That ladder extension was a must cuz we swim when there's no wind. I also put the foot pad kit on it from CD.

My 25 uses the extended ladder too but coming up over the stern pulpit is tough for my crew. Added larger steps as it hurts feet bare from the swim. Have just been designing a two step on the side to help crew when using the mooring and the dingy. Having the dingy tied bow and stern is most important when on a mooring.
