Be careful not to over-tension it, Todd. I put a long crack in my transom gelcoat by over-tensioning the factory-stock adjustable backstay. The purpose of the adjustable backstay on a masthead rig isn't really to let you tension the forestay above factory specs, so you can make the boat point higher to windward. It's purpose is to enable you to ease the backstay tension on the downwind legs. Easing the backstay tension downwind powers up the genoa.
