Good morning Some PO re-did the lifelines forward. He ran the lifeline from the fwd stantion to the pulpit level. I am have them redon and was wondering if I should have the rigger route them to the lower portion of the pulpit? The PO also added a lower line, but only to the first stantion. I like the idea of the level upper line, but am worried about the sail. Any thoughts? Jay

The standard routing on my '85 was from the forward stanchion to the base of the forward pulpit post (right at the bow), where there's a loop for attachment. That reduces chafing of the sail when close-hauled, although on some points of sail the foot will drape over the pulpit itself. I suspect the stainless tubing is less of a threat to wear than the lifeline would be.
