Sorry to hear of your loss, but I am curious about what type of damage the hail caused that would render your boat a total loss? Also, why did BoatUS NOT payout on claims caused by a weather incident? Would be helpful for us to know so we can prevent the same catastrophic loss in the future.

Wow! Awfully sorry about your misfortune.
My insurance policy has a named storm exemption however thunderstorms accompanied by hail, even a Derecho, doesn't qualify for a name per the NWS/NOAA. The Weather Channel is down to naming snowsqualls however, "Snowsquall Ceres". They like Greek Mythological names.
That said, BoatUS Insurance may have another way of sleazing out of making good on claims!

Yes, Me too. It must have been the size of cannon balls.

Tough story... For sail customers, is it a standard or tall rig?

Careful guys. Not to be an alarmist, but does anybody know him? Bio looks kinda maybe suspect. The only posts from him are in the last 2 days. His "real name" in his bio is James Rear Commadore, and the craigslist link doesn't work!
I'm a CPA too, and it looks weird, that's all I'm sayin'.

It never hurts to play it safe, but Mr. Bognar seems to be on the level. He is mentioned in a 1996 C25 Assn newsletter, and google says he's a CPA from Denver. He was Commodore of this Assn. in 1997-1998.

I talked to his son Jim on the phone. He described everything in great detail. He is handing the sale of parts. Yep, the CL link didn't work but I found the same items under a different listing.

https://denver.craigslist.org/bpo/4947562860.html

It was golf ball to baseball size hail. Cracked the decking.

Cool, about the sale, not the damage - that sucks - just looked weird and I decided to "speak up". May be some good deals to pick up.

Speak up for sure man. We all need a reality check some days.

For those looking for sails like I was, it's tall rig.... Damn. I was hoping for a cheap newish main.
