It's about 180 miles from our launch site to Bahia de Cardenas and a big chunk of the Gulf Stream going in the wrong direction.

Should be an interesting sail though!

A friend single-handed to Cuba in a 25' Danish Folkboat (wooden), with no head and only sitting headroom in the cabin. He got "spanked" pretty good crossing The Stream, which is trying to take you to Iceland for most of the trip from FL, and cooks up its own weather at any time. ("See those dark clouds out there? That's The Stream.") Personally, I'd prefer to be in a Valiant 40.
