Nice video. Where's the jib? Are you sure you weren't running the engine?

Looks like fun! Interesting to see the tall rig boom and where it falls in action. Real head knocker if you're not careful!

It looks like the boom was allowed to drop when the reef was tucked in. The TR boom is not normally as low as it appears to be in that video. Here's a photo of a normal TR, taken from the forum's photo archives. You have to be aware of the boom on a TR, but you get accustomed to it. As you can see, it usually swings clear of most occupants of the cockpit.

Yep its lower. I have not finished my single line reefing setup. It needs another block on the mast. Now the forward block pulls the boom too far down. Got the block just have to put it on now

great video ... interesting location for the traveler, and also interesting to see your back stay set up. Is this something done regularly or just a not so common modification?

i think many people have done the cascading backstay. Cat direct has a kit. Im going to add another fall this year and make it 24-1.

Here's my last sail of the season - gusts to 30kts both jib and main reefed. At the end, looking through the windows you can see the rail in the water.

Apologies for the disarray down below - that's what happens when you heel too much!!!

I'm going to make some nets this winter to hold everything in place.
