Anyone offhand know the length that I'll need for jib sheets for a std rig cat 25? Would be for genoa. Only want to use one line and not two.

thanks!

The general rule is 1.5 X boat length. I did that, but an additional couple of feet per side would be nicer. I would say 40' - 42'.

I think we are using ~45' but when we have the pole up, one of the sheets goes over it. Easier to cut off the extra than to buy a new one...

Using the boat length x 2 x 1.5 gives you 75 ft. However, 72 ft. will work. Use 5/16" line unless you frequently sail in strong winds and need/prefer 3/8' line. My preference is 8mm BZZZ line from New England Ropes, a very good single braid that flies through the blocks. Available on Ebay.

Also, keep in mind that a low clew, hank on 110 won't need as much as a my high clew, roller 150

I bought 60' of 1/2 inch and it was barely enough, used it twice. It did work but decided to go smaller and longer. Went back and bought 70' of 3/8 inch and it works better. There is quite a bit more length with the 70' than you really need and I may trim it. I fly a 150 on a furler.

I still have the 60' of 1/2 inch Solid blue sta-set if you are interested. It sells for $2.40 a foot new.
