I had a piece of teak that needed to be something besides a board just setting around.

Well I like it so I showed it to Sara and she shot it down. Said it would be to high to step over and would be kicking anything that was in it. It would have been easy for me to add a board to the back of our existing drink holder but ya have to keep the crew happy so It will stay in its normal spot. Nice job anyway!

Islander

Sara may be correct about that. I did not think of using it other than when we were at anchor setting in the cockpit enjoying a cocktail in the evening or a cup of coffee in the morning. It is easily stepped over with nothing in it. If there was a beer in it and you had to go below-ouch.

I have 2 of these folding tables. I can use them in the cockpit or in the cabin for the starboard settee. Folded up they fit in the compartment behind the head.

Islander, tried a TV tray this weekend and it worked like a charm! Sometimes you need to have your nose rubbed into the obvious!

Thought I would share this. I made it out of left over synthetic decking and I made sure to size the holes for the types of items we would typically be holding. I have to give credit to the admiral for thinking of accommodating the veggie-dip container. It's tall enough that the coffee mugs we use on the boat will slip under the upper part. The only trouble is I wish I had put a recess in the bottom part to hold the coffee cups.

We measured just about everything we could think of

Then it was mounted to our steering pedestal guard, but you could mount it anywhere really.

Maybe next year I will get around to making a table that flips up.

Thanks for sharing Chris - do you remember the brand name of the synthetic decking material?
