sorry if this has been asked before....but i'm trying to locate the hull number on my 25'. there is a plate on the stern. It gives the model (C-25) and the serial number (1854). I'm told the hull number is long and placed right into the gel coat..but I can't find it anywhere. Can someone point me as to where it might be please.

Standing behind the boat facing forward it's just below the rub-rail on the starboard side of the boat out near the edge. It's hand etched into the gelcoat.

Ron,

Depending on if your boat is titled/registered, it may be on those documents. Your HIN (hull identification number) will start with CTYK1854 with another four more alpha-numeric characters to indicate date of certification/manufacture.

and if the Hull Identification Number is partially damaged or covered with fiberglass or gelcoat, is there another location that Catalina Yachts placed their Hull ID ??

I don't think so. Some boats have a plate with the hull number, but that's just part of the HIN. See my reply on the other thread.
