Good evening, I mounted a 30w solar panel this afternoon off the starboard catbird lower rail. I ran the wiring through the stern lamp. Now it looks like the panel is blocking the stern light.
I search the forum but didn't see much on panel locations. I wanted to keep the panel away from the swim ladder with kids and it leaves space for my Honda 8hp. I could lower the panel below the stern light but it would get wet alot. No bimini
Anyone moved the sternlight to the catbird rail, went with a wet panel or any other advice?

You only need a solar panel in daytime and you only need running lights at night. Perhaps you can modify the mount for the solar panel so that you can easily swing it up enough to expose the stern light.

Please note that these alternate light arrangements apply for sailboats only. The second you put your motor in gear, you are a powerboat and tricolor lights are not permissible.
