Hey everybody, I just bought an 85 c-25 swing keel on a trailer last week. I'm going through it and cleaning as the previous owner said it hasn't been on the water the last two years. I'm planning on sailing on local lakes this summer, and figure out what work I want to put into it for the winter. I'm about an hour north of Sacramento if anyone would be interested in giving a new guy some lessons.
Welcome Jesse--I'm..... well.... 3000 miles away and sold my '85 a few years back. So I'm useless to you. But you're joining one of the best sailing communities on the web--one that I and some others never really left!
If you haven't already, check out Catalina Direct--an excellent 3rd party provider of replacements and upgrades--even many of their replacements are useful upgrades, and they really know these boats. Their C-25 Owner's Handbook is a good place to start--it's a combination of advice and catalog.
Another good tool is the Search function at upper right--many questions have already been asked, discussed, debated... But that's not to discourage you from asking. The devil is often in the details.
Welcome!
Welcome to the group!
