I'm rigging up my new to me catalina 25. It's a '77 model swing keel. I wondered if someone may be kind enough to post pictures of their boom with the reefing line, topping lift, and outhaul attached. The manual hasn't been clear enough for me.
There are several styles of rigging for single reefing the main. Todd's boom has a reefing line coming from a turning block towards the stern, and another reefing line secured near the gooseneck.
My boat has single line reefing running down the mast to the deck.
My outhaul was originally non-adjustable and secured at the end of the boom like Todd describes, but I replaced that with an old main sheet set of blocks with a cam cleat, and the fiddle block of that setup is secured at the end of the boom on a D-shackle.

It might be easier to help you if we saw a picture of your boom and fittings you have. All of my lines go to the mast turn at the deck to organizers and back to clutches at the cockpit.
