Hi,
Looking for a main for my 1978 Catalina 25 STD rig.
I'm still using the original. It's pretty beaten up and the plastic head plate developed a crack this season.

Could also use some cushions and a furling jib system if you're in stroking distance of the Detroit area.

Thanks,
Phil

Hi I have a question. As posted above, I'm looking for a main sail.

My question to more experienced sailors is: Can I use any sai with the same dimensions that would fit? Or should I only get a main that was made for a Catalina 25 STD rigging??

Thanks,
Phil

There's hardly anything "unique" about the rig on a C-25. If the luff and foot measurements are within a few inches (given a sliding gooseneck), and the slugs and the foot bolt-rope are the right size, the sail will work as well as its condition suggests. (I.e., a baggy sail from any boat will be a baggy sail an a C-25.) Google "used sails"...

I have one up here in central MI (Hemlock) that I will part with for $50. I bought a new one from Doyle in Detroit and had this one serviced. I have more than that in the service price but for a near by fellow C25 owner, I can try to help out. Problem is it has my numbers on it. It's up to you.
