It's hot here in New Orleans. With the wind in your face it's great, but I like to come back to the dock at dark so I don't have to wrap her up under the beating sun.

Right now, I wish! Then in January, I'll wish I was in the Dry Tortugas!

It's been unseasonably cool in New England -- which is nice. But much more summer ahead!

Don't worry, I'm heading to the NE the end of Aug for a week, I am pretty sure there will a heat wave over Labor Day weekend while I up there. Every time I head north thinking I might get a little relief from the FL summer, whether it's the NE or MW, it's in the 90's for the whole visit, except maybe the day I arrive or leave...hahaha.

What's that--a grill cover on the left (starboard) side? And what's that on it?? And are you in the Southern Hemisphere???

My guess it's a grill cover with what appears to be snow on it. Man that's hard core.

That's exactly right. This was our first, and probably last, family winter sail. We went out on January 1 after moving the boat to a new marina when the slip lease ended. The temperature was a balmy mid-50s, which seemed nice until going to windward.

If I had known then what I know now, we would have done a downwind run, and then motored back with everyone but me in the cabin.

That's snow. I know you've seen it in CT!

Maybe it wasn't as balmy as I remember.
