I've read and benefitted from a lot of great ideas for boat maintenance and improvements on this forum. Would anyone like to put their ideas together into an article to be published in the Catalina Yachts Mainsheet magazine?

All you need is the story of what you did and some pictures. If you're a writer, great, but you don't have to be. What we need are your ideas. Non-writers don't have to worry about grammar, spelling, etc. As a tech editor, its my job to help you with whatever you write so that it can be published in the magazine.

If you're interested, please email me your story and photos, or any questions: catalina25tech at catalina-capri-25s.org

I submitted a few topics eons ago. Nothing came of them. Maybe too long. maybe not written well. One time, I was personally asked to submit my Bunk Extension write-up which was on my website....only to be told a month later that too many bunk extensions were received and so a totally different topic wound up in the magazine - What gives ? Here are 2 of at least 3 or 4 that were submitted probably a few years ago. if you do not use either one, you won't hurt my feelings.

Thanks Larry!

I have the impression that what gets published or not depends on the timing of the input (the articles from which to choose) and the opinion of whoever is the Technical Editor. I've already been advised very gently and very nicely and circumspectly about not publishhing similar articles in succession.

I really like your protective box under the v-berth. It seems to me its a winner for anyone that would want to use the huge space under the v-berth for storage while protecting the instruments and thru-hulls often mounted there. I'm going to try to turn that into an article. Please look for email from me regarding approval for any edits.

Seth, Thanks for response. After providing those links in my posting, I then realized it would have been better if I had submitted via EMail (per the instructions). Sorry about that.

If you happen to send me an EMail, I should be able to respond but not necessarily right away depending on my access to EMails, since I will be out of town for a week or so starting tomorrow morning.

Hey Seth, Let me know if you think the swing repair is a good enough candidate. I can always write that up, or the bow repair when I made my boat 8" shorter via seawall, or putting the holding tank under the vberth. Those are my biggies with the boat.

Thanks Jeremy! I'd love to see a swing keel trunk repair article or a holding tank installation under v-berth article. We have a few months before needing to submit it, so there's plenty of time to work on it.
