A member has a 135% genoa from a Capri 25 and according to Catalina it should work on my C-25, has anyone done this? According to the dimensions and the length of the forestay, it will fit. Input please.
Thanks,

The I measurement (mast height above the deck) is 1.75' larger for the Capri 25 than for the C-25 SR, which leads me to suspect the luff of the Capri foresail is too long for your Cat. But it would likely fit on a tall rig.

Hi Brian, I agree with Dave. The forestay length ("I" measurement) on a standard rig Catalina 25 is 29.0 ft; the forestay length on the Capri 25 is 30.75 ft. It will depend a bit on the sailmaker... but most of the Capri 25 sails were intended for performance. So, the luff was usually cut to maximum for 135 gennies and larger. But, it should work on a tall rig C25... Bill Holcomb - C25T Snickerdoodle #4839
Another thing to watch for is many if not most Capri 25s, as racers, fly hank-on sails that can reach virtually from the stem fitting to the mast-head. A furling sail has to be a fair amount shorter on the luff.

Luff of the Capri sail is 27'7" correct? You have to take a tape measure to your boat and measure the max. Luff you can put on your furler. Don't go by the measurements of a standard Catalina sail because those are for boats without furlers. Every brand of furlers will have different luff measurements. Is the Capri sail a furling sail?

Rob, With a foot of only 11 ft and a short luff of 25ft, I doubt that was made for a Capri 25. Possibly a a 22? Anyway that would be a small headsail. Definitely not a 135.

Yup--the forestay is almost 31' and the J dimension (forestay to mast at its base) is 10.5'. So aside from being a little short vertically, that would be about a 105% jib.

Thanks for all the input. I'm going to look into it further and maybe measure my two jibs I have for confirmation of fit. Not sure what he is asking for the 135% but if it will fit and is a good deal, I might get it. I've been running my 110% because my 150% has some damage around the head that needs to be repaired and I mostly sail alone so the 110% is easier to handle.
