I'm interested in a 1973 Johnson 9.5 HP that looks like it's in very good shape. But another forum I checked had several comments that were less than favorable for this particluar model. Anyone here have any experience with one?

Regardless of its condition you have to keep in mind that it is 43yrs old. Rubber seals can be a problem along with parts availability. I would also guess that the ignition system is probably a magneto with points and a condenser and not electronic. Also a 2cyl model. I would look into the availability of parts before making any decisions.
