Dave - Excellent photos !

One thing to watch out for if fooling around to remove a spring. Whatever you do, try not taking a crow bar wedging in between the handle support arms and the mount support structure - The handle support arms have a slot channel running down each support arm which is where the upper and lower locking positions exist. Those slots running down the handle support should in no way have any stress applied that could distort the slot clearance. if the slot clearance is disturbed at a point along it's length, the mount may bind as it is lowered or raised. If binding is present during raising results, it is probably having to do with the slot clearance narrowed at one point or another along it's length.

Does anyone know the mounting hole spacing for the CD 4 spring mount.
I need to replace my old Garlick unit and don't really want to drill new holes in the transom.

Thanks

I believe the holes will be the same so Its a direct replacement from the old to the new.

I just finished replacing the original motor bracket with a new Catalina Direct four spring. I was pleased to find that all holes lined up and no adjustment was needed for the transom holes or the SS backers from CD. It would have been faster with two people to tighten the mounting bolts, but I got through it in a couple of hours.
