See, This is what happens when you start poking around...Now you've got something to keep you awake at night. $10 says the boat had a keel drop sometime in its life. The repair doesn't seem to be that resent or the best fiberglass work either although it is water tight. Really your call as to leave it or make the repair better. If your comfortable working with fiberglass then I choose B.

I can't comment on that particular setup, but it may not be a repair. That gray stuff looks like the epoxy the factory used very liberally on mine. Take a look about half way down this thread, http://www.catalina-capri-25s.org/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=29405. You can see that same gray epoxy on top of the keel trunk on mine. Took me forever to chip, scrap, and sand that stuff out of my way.

Don't know what the original question was about........
Starting a new thread would have been better. Anyway, when I replaced the tires on my powerboat trailer I went with Kenda Loadstar tires.

After struggling through several cinese tires under under various brand names including some well known american names, I went with Goodyear Marathons. They're still probably chinese, but hopefully with a little better quality control. C or D load range.

check out trailerpartsuperstore at easternmarine.com. Also, etrailer.com. Also Northern Tool if they have mounted tires on sale.

I went with the Goodyear Marathons also. Holding up far better than the oems. I also had them balance the tires this time also. I think it makes a difference although some people may say different. Just my experience. I pull mine 1400 miles one way and back every year so I want as good as I can get.

Odds are that if you don't use your trailer as lot, the tires will dry-rot before you wear them out. also, consider buying them already mounted on rims, unless you have a relatively inexpensive place to mount the bare tires on your rims.

Try E trailer for good buys on tires and wheels!
