This past Sunday afternoon was gorgeous sailing weather on the "Rivah", wind constant out of the NW at about 12 kts, with gusts to 16, 1/2-foot waves and high overcast. Full crew, including the Admiral, who to her credit, only squeaked once or twice as Pu heeled over during a quick gust.
Here we are, on a port tack ...
Solidly in command, The Intrepid Mariner (cough, cough)
Allwise skipper-NOT! (But having a ball!)
The wind was so constant, my First Mate totally relaxed. Ah done wore 'em out!
Ever-vigilant First Mate *chuckle*
And the crew, getting their "sea-legs"...
GUURK! (Actually, both trying to touch the water as Pualani heeled in the freshening breeze)
As old (and dirty-bottomed, shame on me) as she is, Pu kicked up her heels and gave me an honest 4.6-4.7 kts SOG on her beam reach, and her funky little Nissan one-lunger got us out and back in to the marina without a fuss. All in all, a good time had by all.
Fair Winds and Following Seas to all,
Al and Bernadette, "Pualani Nui", '82 C25 SR/SK, homeport MCB Quantico

I can still hear my old DI ... "Yer OTHER left, boot! Here, hold this rock..."
Exactly...
