Hello friends,

I find that I'm spending a lot of time sailing my Catalina 25 this summer.

I would like to get out of the sun more while in the cockpit.

Has anyone built a Bimini out of a giant solar panel before ? I'm about to start that as a project and am looking for some advice.

Many thanks
Jean

Be sure to read the comment section at the end of this blurb:

Rigid panels have dropped drastically in price and there's no plastic film that becomes milky - reducing the panel output:

When vacationing in San Francisco we saw a bimini that was made completely from rigid solar panels. Not the prettiest boat in the marina, but . . .

Keep up posted on your progress - we luv boat project pix here!

The second link gives a lot of info. I especially like the mounting ideas. I will save that link.
