Just want to say hello from North Idaho. Seems an unlikely spot for sailing, but we have some amazing lakes here with some of the flukiest winds I've ever experienced. I bought a Cat 25 T.R. in June and splashed her on the 3rd of July in Lake Pend Oreille. Three days later a huge wildfire erupted and closed down access to the marina. It was almost two weeks before I could get back down to work on the boat. I've read many posts here already and have learned quite a bit about my boat from you all. Thanks. Anyway, just a shout out to say hello. Hope to share some sailing experiences with you.

Beautiful lake! I can imagine the mountains make it fluky. I'm guessing that's an '82-'83... Which keel?
Somehow you don't sound like a total "newbie"--what's your sailing background, and how do you plan to use the boat?

Bill is our guru--was once a dealer for these boats. I was thinking he was on your lake... Be sure to connect!

Bill, we have actually met briefly. I'm right across from you in A-4. I would like to discuss a few things about the boat when our paths cross again. I'm feeling pretty lucky to have you so close.
Dave: My boat is an 82 with a swing keel. No, I'm not new to sailing, just this forum. I started sailing in the 70's in Martinez California. Was a rigger in Alameda for a short time, taught sailing lessons there, and delivered a few boats around the bay. Have a little blue water experience. Sailed with my cousins and uncle to Acapulco on his 50' ketch Scaldis. Best trip of my life. Crewed on a couple other deliveries up and down the coast. I'm using the cat 25 to get back into sailing. I've been white water rafting for 30 years and now it's time to get back to what I really love. I plan to move up to a 30' by next summer. Sorry for the long post.
Steve & Jan, thanks for the welcome.
