Just got signed up today and wanted to introduce myself. Fairly new sailor, wife and I just picked up a 84 Cat25 with another couple. They are working toward retiring and live aboard in 3-4 years, so we purchase a local boat on Lake St Clair for fun and practice. Wife and I will plan on keeping the boat when they move on.

Some sailing experience. 10 days in Belize a few years ago with the other couple and his brother. Been out on our boat about a half dozen times since we purchase it in June. Already had the fun of replacing the keep cable before we put it in the water (had never been replace!)

All 4 of us are taking the 101/103 ASA classes in about a month in Traverse City.

That's about it, look forward to hanging out and learning a lot.

Welcome Nick!

Good work on the keel cable--very important! And the ASA courses will be great!

A few standard suggestions:

- If you aren't familiar with Catalina Direct, a third-party supplier of replacements and upgrades for our boats, check them out, and consider buying their C-25 Handbook--essentially their catalog, but with lots of information and ideas. (Maybe you got the cable from them--in which case, never mind... )

- Put together a "Signature" under your Profile, with your name, model year, rig, keel, venue, etc... That will appear after each post, helping get you more specific responses.

Fair winds!
