---- SOLD ----

The new owners of JD have just left for their journey back to the Melbourne Florida area.

He has already been lurking around here, I hope that he joins the Association and gets as much from it as I still do.

There's a lot more space in our Garage! Boat Cushions, Sail Bags, Generator, etc. etc.

If we didn't have our C34, this would be a sad day, but knowing that the boat is going to a guy that loves sailing and is moving his family to share that affection is a great result of selling JD.

--------- SOLD ----------------

Yes, it's time.

I'm retiring in November 2015 and we want to sail further than we can go on our Catalina 250.

We are purchasing a Catalina 34 and have to sell JD.

JD is a great boat that will give the new owner some great adventures. Even in South Florida, with the Installed Air Conditioning and onboard Generator, cool evenings in new locations are a great way to get away from it all. Trail the boat across the State, Up or Down the coast, there are so many places to launch the boat and enjoy sailing.

Here's the specs,

We have used JD (Joint Decision) to sail locally in Biscayne Bay mostly on 3 to 5 day adventures, also sailed her to Bimini (52miles), Outside down to the keys and inside back to Biscayne Bay on a 10 day cruise.
Our tow vehicle is a Ford F150 Super Cab which manages towing without any issues. (Truck not included but make me an offer :)
We have trailed JD to Pensacola for a 5 day cruise, to Cocoa Beach for a 4 day cruise. But most of our sailing has been in Biscayne Bay launching from Black Point Marina.
Launching JD is easy, takes a while to get her rigged. I'm 66 and in good shape, so I have no problems getting the boat prepped for launch or retrieving the boat for the tow home.

I'm retiring in November 2015 and we want to go cruising to the Islands an up to Maine, we need a bigger boat.

If you are interested in buying a great boat, that is rigged to allow you to enjoy multi day trips, then contact me.

Are you sure that a C34 will fit next to your house........?

It's been about a year ago that I purchased the Gemini and sold my C25. Miss it every now and then, but love all of the space on the catamaran.

Good luck with the sale and good luck with sailing to farther destinations.

Thanks Davy,
The C34 we're hoping passes survey, is special! The owner has done a lot of mods on the boat to make it as close to a blue water boat as a c34 can be.

I know what you mean about the C25/C250, we have had some great fun on the boat, and as it is kitted out for multi-day/night cruises, we have become very used to how she sails and hangs off the hook. We had intended to take her out for the Memorial day weekend despite the lack of takers for the trip on the Florida West coast, we were going to spend the Friday thru Monday sailing about the lower end of Biscayne Bay and Card Sound. Not sure we'll be able to do that in the C34. JD has been really well suited to sailing in our area, and there are so many places along the Florida coast to enjoy.

Someone is going to get a boat ready to launch and sail!

Paul

Paul -

Sounds like a great plan. Are you planning on taking any additional ASA classes in Key West? Maybe Brad would be interested in your bout for his school?

Best of luck,

Hey Paul -

Do you think you could could whip up a destination article for the next issue? I'm sure the readers would love to hear about the trips you've made with JD. You have a month or so, let me know if you are interested.

Thanks,

Sounds like an idea Brian (both of them)

Peggy & I have talked about doing the next ASA course, we have the book and are working through it.

I'll knock out a blurb about our trips with JD, but it will not compare to those from Henk.

All articles are welcomed. Keep them coming. I'll be posting a request for more articles shortly. Either way, you can still contribute to the C25/C250/Capri 25 Group, I won't tell. LOL Best of luck with the new boat and the ASA courses. I'm hoping to do 103 this November when I'm down for Thanksgiving. I'll look you up then.

Brian, let me know when you'll be down here.

JD is sitting silently on her trailer, but still being cared for. I'm taking the tarp off this week so that the broker can stop by and take pics. While she is uncovered, I'm going to replace the deck/steaming light fixture, the old one looks old. I want the buyer (when JD finds them) to be able to take the boat to a launch site and go sailing and not have to worry 'do the lights work' Of course they do!

We had the renaming ceremony of our new boat this weekend, was a blast.

Paul,
Congratulations! If you're cruising the ICW through North Carolina and need a place to stop and stretch your legs, we have room at our dock. We're just a few miles off the ICW up the Pamlico River.
