Does anyone know of a easy way to tighten the collar nut where the handle fits onto at the winch?

which winch does the winch handle fit on the winch, which winch.....???

If you have typical Catalina 25 winches there is a collar around the winch socket that is held on by a spiral flat ring which unclips from its position allowing the collar to lift off and provide access the mounting hardware after the winch drum is lifted from the stem. It is intensionally loose.

Hey Frank and others, I apologize.

I meant the keel cable winch.

it's the nut the handle fits onto.

Mine unscrewed really easily with fingers - I was afraid it would come off while winching so I put Loctite 243 on the threads and tweaked it up with a spanner. It hasn't moved since.
