About a month ago I posted a problem I had with my new boat trailer. The builder here in Sacramento had drawings for a C25 fin keel boat and said that he would make adjustments for the wing keel draft and shape. When the boat was loaded with a travel lift in Anacortes, WA., the fit was not even close. It was obvious the support pads were built for a fin keel boat even though the invoice said Wing Keel. The builder finally got the problem fixed this week, here are some before and after pics:
As well as fixing the pad height, he also changed the guides to funnel the wing instead of the vertical part of the keel. I want to thank Scott for the pics he sent on my last post, I think this is the best way to guide a wing.
Although I am satisfied with the repairs I would never recommend this builder to anyone. There were several other problems including not bleeding the brakes correctly which left me with almost no brakes on some serious mountain passes between WA. and CA. The lesson here for anyone having a trailer built is use an established builder who has built the actual trailer needed for your boat or make sure they have the correct drawings! Also do not leave their yard without checking the brakes, lights, bearings, etc. Don't assume that after paying several thousand dollars to a professional builder that everything is ready to go.

Glad to hear your trailer is finally on spec.
Yepper, even though our Trail-Rite was very close to perfect (they explained that the only item that would need adjusting would be the forward most roller - and they were right) you may never know when a fab shop newbie is assigned to your build - until after a problem arises.
