I recently sold my 87 and purchased an 89, looking to add a spinnaker and it does not look there is enough room to mount spinnaker blocks on the side of the rear cockpit. There is only a small amount of level space and this is taken up by a set of cleats. This was not an issue on the 87. If you have an 89 what are you using for spinnaker blocks and where did you mount them.
I'm not sure how different the '89 is from the '87, but on my '87 I just shackled the blocks to the rear mooring cleats. Snap shackles speed up the process and can be removed when not in use.
We are slowly acquiring and installing hardware for an asymmetrical spinnaker on our 1989 C25. If I weren't so adamant about not drilling holes in the fiberglass, I would mount blocks on the outer-rear coamings. Current plan is to mount blocks (using eye straps) on the front edge of the forward legs of stern pulpit. The straps/blocks will be mounted low, but not so low that they touch the coaming or deck when not in use.
Let us know what you decide and perhaps post some pix when done!
