1977 Trail-Rite fin keel trailer, new 8,000 lb actuator 2011, surge brakes reworked 2011, other items replaced since purchase in 2008 – all 4 tires and wheels, wood keel guides and carpet, bow stop roller, lights & wiring, 30’ tow strap for launch/retrieve and tie-down ratchet straps, new jacks fore and aft along with original jack gives 2 up front, 2" ball mount with ball rated for 7,500 lb.
There is a contract pending for the sale of our boat, to be closed in April, at which time we will move the boat to the other lake in our area. We need the trailer for that move, which is why it won't be available until then.

When I called about parts, a guy at Trail-Rite said that they built trailers for Catalina Yachts for the C-25 for about 10 years. In fact, an older C-25 fin keel boat was on this trailer when I bought it.
David, That is a nice trailer, It has open C type framing and not box beam. Box beam trailers will rust from the inside, Your C rails can be inspected and any rust can be easily taken care of. I think you won't have any problem selling it. Good luck!
Until the trailer is sold, it is also available to rent for haul-outs, bottom work, keel cable replacement, etc. This week we'll haul out my C-25 so the new owner can work on it, cable replacement, hull wash/polish, etc. Should take 1-2 weeks. After that it will be available to purchase or rent.
I see the Catalina 25 SK on the trailer but did you float it on or was it hoisted and set on? The reason I ask is that there are no cranes on my lake and it would be an issue because it looks like it would take 5-6 feet of water at a ramp to float it on.

We have to float on at our lake. Yes, it does take 5-6 ft. of water. That's why I use the strap method - a 30 ft strap between the trailer and the tow vehicle. Short version: tow trailer to ramp, chock wheels, disconnect trailer and pull forward a few feet, connect strap to trailer and to tow vehicle, pull forward enough to remove chocks, back trailer into the water until the support arms at the winch stand are almost completely under water, drive boat up to winch stand and secure bow snug into the rollers, attach line from winch stand (I use the genoa sheet or similar line) to each genoa winch and snug up tight, pull boat out, chock wheels and reverse strap setting process. Essentially, it does require 1 person to get wet dealing with the winch. I use chest-high waders. The line to the genoa winches helps to keep the boat from sliding backwards as you come out of the water. Sorry I didn't get pics on the haulout last Friday.
The trailer has an extension tube, but I don't have a quick disconnect on the brake line yet so it can't be used at this time. I do have the kit, however, and plan to have it installed.
Yes, I can drive half way. Do you need it to be on a weekend, or will a weekday work for you? I would prefer a weekday. As I mentioned above, it won't be available until we move the boat on it now to the other lake here. He's doing a wash/polish job on the hull this week, will touchup sand and paint the bottom, and rewire the mast. At the earliest, we'll move it mid-month, but it could take a bit longer. I'll start looking at the route and see where a good transfer point might be.
Edit: Lake Junaluska, NC is almost exactly half way for each of us, about 275 mi. It's supposed to be a very pretty, peaceful place. Travel expense round trip will be in the neighborhood of $250. Call me at 6-1-5-four-three-zero-1-4-9-6 to discuss details.
Update: I have had a local shop replace the rigid brake line from the front axle to the actuator at the tongue with a flexible line and had a quick disconnect installed so the 7 ft. tongue extension can now be used. Also, I had the bearings repacked on all 4 wheels and the brakes inspected. Cost: $280. Price drop to $2,500. This trailer will handle any fin keel or swing keel C25, as well as just about any other keel boat up to 25-26 ft., excluding wing keel boats due to the keel guide supports. Will consider meeting you part way, depending on distance.
I have a trailer for my boat but looking at your pictures, if someone purchasing this trailer was handy with a cutting torch and a welder it wouldn't take too much modification to make this trailer capable of handling a wing keel. Move the keel guides out a bit and build up a platform for the keel to sit on when out of the water and you would have a great trailer. The keel platform could even be made to be removable/adjustable so the trailer could be used for all keel models.
Heck, if one wanted to go all out they could add hydraulics to the platform to make it infinitely adjustable. This would allow one to drop the platform slightly to paint the bottom of the keel or raise it slightly to paint under the pads.
I know these ideas are kinda out there but the first idea would not cost more than a couple of hundread dollars to have done at a trailer shop. Just throwing out some ideas to try and help sell it.
Have you ever been to Newport, Rhode Island. The AC45's are racing there in a few days and the Tall Ships are coming early next month, and you could even haul a trailer with you?!!!!!
Nashville is not that far away. With all the 25's around here you could probably rent it for haul out to clean/repair etc. Do you have a place to store it? Yard at marina is expensive for trailer storage.
