I have had the honor of serving on the Board of this Association for three years, prior to that I served as the Catalina 25 Technical Editor for the Mainsheet Magazine. My first year as an Officer I served as Secretary under Commodore Peet, Don was of the old school and yet a visionary as well. He created the scenario where the Capri 25 was to become part of our International Association. I served as Vice Commodore under Jim Baumgart, Jim was relatively new to the Catalina 25 and was making the transition from powerboater to sailor, and his enthusiasm moved the Association forward. I have just completed my time as Commodore and essentially rode the momentum of the last several years. A huge amount of that momentum was the result of Duane Wolff’s efforts. Duane has done so much for the Association over the last few years that it is impossible to give him enough credit or even discover all of the things that bear his mark. As Treasurer and now as contracted bookkeeper J.B. Manely has provided a degree of continuity to the Association that is an absolute must for a volunteer organization. Of course I have also enjoyed and appreciated the efforts of all the other officers and staff that I have been lucky enough to serve with; this organization has given me so much more than I can give back. Our future is in the capable hands of others now and I would only make a couple of comments. First and most important is to the new owners and new members of the forum; join the Association and become a volunteer. No one needs to wait until some magic point in time to begin to give back to this Association. I began as technical editor within months of buying my first Catalina 25, that small amount of effort gave back so much to me. Second is for everyone to realize that this association must continue to change and move forward to remain viable and valuable. Had this forum remained as merely an adjunct to the Mainsheet magazine and an unofficial means of communication the Association would have become moribund. Now we are the most vital and best example of what a Catalina association can be, that is because people worked to change the by-laws and recognize that the community on the internet and the power of the internet was the future of the Association. Finally I would remind the old guys and alert the new that we are a very diverse community. Always remember that the response you read is an effort by one sailor to share wisdom that works for them in their locale.
And thank you, Frank--you carried our banner well! And I'll add my hearty thanks to Duane for all of his work on this, our most vital and valuable association resource--and a lot of other things I hardly know about! A long line of officer-teams has made this the best sailing community on the Internet!
Thank you for all of your excellent work for the association and equally thanks to all those who have served with and before you for establishing this sight and the camaraderie that clearly is evident between owners of all the variations of 25 foot Catalina's we represent. I know how difficult it is to head a "local" volunteer organization, but I can not fathom the complexity of doing so in the cyber world. Again, thank you!
Thank you and the other officers of the association for your tireless efforts. This association is one of the best features of a Catalina 25, and the price is trivial compared to other boating costs.
Frank, Duane, Don, JB, and all the other officers: Thanks, ya dun good.
As far as the future of the organization, I'm especially interested in the Admiralty forum, made for those of us who have bought other boats. I still have my 25, for now that is. This is a way for us to remain in touch. My hat is off to whoever came up with that idea.
I've valued your input, your grammar, wry comments, pictures and website, your technical expertise and to no small degree - the speed at which you arrive at the punch line.

And we do. I have seen volunteer organizations flourish and wither, depending on the volunteers. I think the guy that came with that forum is a jerk
