I had the boat out to do a bottom job and decided to paint new stripes, Admiral's recommendation, After that was done the old rub rail was looking really bad. I ordered a new one from Catalina Direct and installed it. The outside temperature was in the 90's and using plenty of soapy water finally got in finished. Got to say it was not an easy task and now have several sore appendages that are yelling at me. I built a roller tool that worked but taking a medium sized old screwdriver and rounding the edges with a sanding belt them polishing the end to a shinny smooth finish worked the best. I used a heat gun to help on the corners.

Wile I had the boat out and the mast down I converted all the mast lights to LED's. Built and installed a mast head crane, added a topping lift for a spinnaker pole as well as a fore guy, also installed a new deck electrical plug. Today I will build a removable bowsprit for flying the asymmetrical spinnaker. Tomorrow spend the day cleaning up the boat for launching on Tuesday.

Here are two photos of the bowsprit. It projects 24" from the stem fitting, witch it is bolted to. The aft end pins into a folding horn cleat. I still need to add block to end. It is made from 1" X 1/8" wall square steel tube with oak center.

By-the-way. I did not make the Tuesday launch but will leave shortly today to launch. Had too many loose ends to tie up.
