Wow! I'll add this: If you look around at the prices for Catalina 25s around the country, this one is in a different class from almost all of them. First, it's a 1989, which was the model's final and best version (through 1991) and I believe the best value in a 25-foot trailerable cruiser made by anybody, ever--especially with the trailer-friendly, gunk-hole friendly wing keel. (From Catalina's point of view, it became too costly to meet the cheap competition of the time.) Second, it has apparently (and I haven't seen it in the flesh) been maintained, equipped, and upgraded to a level that makes it stand up against any new boat out there. He has done all of the important stuff, and much more. If I were in the market for this category, I'd travel to see this boat.
(I do not know the owner and have no interest in the outcome.)

Moving your boat from Clear Lake to Colorado some years ago really made a difference in the wear and tear on the gel-coat. My boat being built only two boats later than yours I can attest that the harsh sun down here has been hard on my gel-coat. I wihsed mine had a shine like yours.
Is that a Poli-Glo shine or just wax and elbow grease?
Not too much elbow grease. I tried polyglow the first year I had the boat, looked good the first year, not so much on the second, it yellowed. I stripped it off and wet sanded the whole thing, started with 220 then 400 then 600 then 800 then 1000 then 1200 then 1500, After the 220, the climbing grits were a fairly quick pass. then I compounded it with Finesse it II (3M) and waxed. now I wax it twice a year and it stays shiney, every couple of years I compound again, but it's not too bad. One has to be careful not to remove any more gelcoat than necessary on the first round. I did my girlfriends 22 the same way, her boat had been sitting for a long time, badly oxidized, looks like mine now.. and yes, without question the best sailing date is close formation, each single handing our own boats :)
Sold the boat yesterday for 14.500. on to the new project, the timing was excellent, got to sail her for a good chunk of the season, got the new project home on Saturday, sold the boat Monday... I'll still be reading this forum regularly, it's just too good. You guys have all been amazing with help and advice, I learned an amazing amount here... Jeff

Awesome! Glad you sold so quickly and at a great price.
That's a great buy for the buyer and a great sale for you! I think it's worth at least that number, but the market has struggled in some areas. Welcome to the Admiralty--let us know what comes next!
