Greetings all I've narrowed it down to these two finishes, I rather prefer the satin finish over gloss. I'm leaning towards the Light but I'd appreciate the voice of experience. Thought or comments please:
I'm guessing this is for the exterior. That's a personal choice. I have gloss just because a little shine on an older boat with less than a new boat shine helps in the overall look. I also think that at a microscopic level a shiny surface is smoother and repels water better but I don't have any proof of that. Either one looks better than grey so.....

I don't yet have experience with Cetol but have bought Cetol Natural Teak in preparation for the exterior refinishing. I have looked at pictures and read reviews and at least one of them comes out a very orange color. Not natural looking at all. I wish I could tell you which one it is but I just don't remember. Try going to WM and read the Cetol reviews from there. I am just hoping that I bought the right one. If you happen to have any scrap Teak, I would try out your choice on that first to see if thats the look you want. That is my plan. Then I will follow up with 4 coats of gloss. Good luck.
My experience and observations say Cetol Marine (the original) is a bit on the orange side, Cetol Light is sorta milky, and Cetol Natural Teak is more yellow. Practical Sailor said Marine gave the best UV protection, so held up better--the others don't have as much pigment to filter out UV. Cetol Gloss has no UV protection--it's meant to be a topcoat over one of the other three.
I've gone back to Marine, with no gloss coat--it seems to me to look more like new teak, although it hides the grain a little more.

BTW Dave, how far will a quart of Cetol go on the exterior ? I am guessing 1.5-2 coats per quart. Thanks.
Oooo... It's been a while, but I think I got four coats from a quart without using it up. Let's hear from someone with more recent experience.

I used Cetol light on the interior and after one coat didn't like the darkness I was getting so just applied numerous coats of gloss after. Overall I'm happy with it and I also like the idea that it will be easier to keep clean.
Also the gloss on the interior seems to add depth and make the cabin feel larger.
