Has anyone sent their Garhauer mount back to the factory to have more springs added. I read a post somewhere that an owner had done this. When I went on their sebsite they didn't even list a mount
I think they're only making them for Catalina Direct.

I agree Dave, I think they were/are made exclusively for Catalina and CD. I've never seen them sold anywhere else. IMO they struck a deal that Garhauer Isn't allowed to sell the mount or parts directly or through another outlet. Garhauer's web site doesn't even show them. Same goes for repairs and spring upgrades. Why repair/sell you some springs when they can sell you a new mount. If you can contact them its worth a phone call to find out.

On a Web site called Sailboat Owners .com I saw where someone had sent his outboard mount to Garhauer and they had added springs. When I called they said they didn't recall doing that. It seems that now they only make them for resale by CD, so if you want one you have to pay whatever CD want to charge.
