The Catalina emblem on my original catalina main is just starting to peel off a bit. About 1-2 inches on bottom of the diamond is starting to come off.

Anyone have a recommendation for a safe effective way to glue it back on?

Thanks,

Jared

Well the emblem is glued on and it doesn't seem like the best choice to add unnecessary stitch holes to the sail if it is not necesarry.

Anyone have any glue they would trust on a sail?

Thanks

I had SailCare clean and re-resin my sail, and adjust the bolt rope, making it nice and crisp, and significantly improving its shape. Before putting it through their cleaning machine they insisted on restitching the insignia and numbers, since that's the only way to guarantee it will stay on permanently. It looks fine, and stitch holes are a non-issue. I believe that stitching is the best way to re-attach your insignia.

But if you want to try to do it on the cheap, you might try a hot glue gun. I have used one for occasional repairs, but never something as exposed as a sail insignia. But I'm throwing it out there if you want to try something.

My PO had sent the sails to Sailcare and they sewed the emblems on also. They told him that the heat from their driers could cause the glue to release. Your sails have millions of stitches, I don't think a few more would cause any harm.
