I like the guy in the white shirt texting his mechanic about how the throttles might be a little touchy with the new engine set up...

This place is just down the street from me. I've eaten at the Sunset grill a few times. The channel comes in straight from the SW and then makes a hard right turn just a few yards from the beach. He apparently missed the turn......

The sad part is, this moron is going 50+ish miles per hour in the fog. In a channel.

If there had been another boat it would have turned very tragic. Also, if he had been 50-60' to the left, he would have run straight into the restaurant dock. Probably killing everyone on his boat....

That was my first thought, but I saw a statement by an investigator, and he said alcohol wasn't involved. It must have just been plain stupidity. They said he's being charged with reckless operation. He's a licensed charter skipper, or, at least he is for now.

A sign from above that the skipper should go into the restaurant business.....

"""
My GPS said I was in the channel, and my Radar did not see the kyaks on the beach!
They should have had radar reflectors on them!
I wasn't going to fast when I stopped!

Can I get a take out?

So I guess the people lined up on the left are waiting for their refunds...

Poor kayaks! (It's amazing if no people got the same.)

If alcohol wasn't involved, I'm thinking it's worse! Forget his captain's license--this guy should lose his rights to operate a dinghy with a trolling motor.

If it was foggy he had no reason to be going that fast.

Imagine a price of just one motor ~$20k times 4 is ~$80k + boat around $50k is ~$130k.

More money you have the more you think the laws of physics does not apply to you (like regular laws)

Do you have the source of the crash photo that I can use for my safe boating class? I'd say that driving your boat full-speed into a restaurant in the fog is a good example of unsafe boating!
