I was browsing through boats on CL as I am wont to do. Found what appeared at first blush to be a steal for a 33' boat...until I looked at the pictures. The first three pictures are "historical", the rest are current. I especially like the state of the keel. Take a look:

Sad. I bet she was a beauty in her youth, but someone left her alone and probably forgotten, now she needs more than a few transplants.

keel timber replacement. If the frames are not rotten, it might not be bad. From the pics looks like a good candidate for restoration. rotten frames will add significantly to the work. Won't be cheap, but will be doable. When I was 20 and stupider than I am now, I would have jumped on something like that. Oh wait... I did!

Scott: That is NOT included in the sale....DOH.
Needs some ribs replaced, so what do you get? Soggy/rotted patterns to build a complete new boat, a mediocre condition wooden mast, some bronze portholes. no anchor, no lines, no new planks, no stands even......

Items Available But Not Included In The Sale:
There is a custom made cockpit dodger with stainless steel frame and hand holds.
There are a number of dry Sapele planks available and some other wood for the frames.
The boat is currently sitting on some jacks that are available.
There is a 60 lb CQR Anchor with several hundred feet of rode.

Wow, if that restoration doesn't stir your soul, I'm not sure you can call yourself a sailor! He basically bought himself a keel and built up from there after tearing off everything else.

Wow.

I don't know this boat, but from the photo dates, it took a long time - 2001 - 2009.
